Direct and indirect control: crops and production processes

The “Target – Safe Spices” philosophy is not a vague concept but an operational method aimed at guaranteeing the absence, or at least the drastic reduction, of all contaminating elements which would not be eliminated by subsequent processes. For Webb James, “guarantee” is not just an abstract word, it sums up the operations which make the product safe for human consumption.

The first step towards reaching this standard is taken directly in the field by modernizing cultivation methods, ensuring correct crop rotation, controlling the use of fertilizers and pesticides and implementation of sanitary standards, improving harvesting and storage methods and, where possible  trying to encourage cultivation without the use of chemicals (organic spices). Such steps, which obviously require a presence on the ground in the places of origin, ensure raw materials with a level of safety never before achieved by other companies in the spice sector.
Webb James indeed wants  to set  the highest standard for exclusive natural flavors of Tuscany and  all imported  spices.
